Grinding Machines: Angle, Die and Straight Grinders
Choose the grinder format
This grinding range forms part of Yuri’s wider power tools collection.
- Angle grinders: For surface and edge work with suitable grinding discs. The angle grinder range includes 100mm and 125mm mains-powered models, plus a 110mm cordless model.
- Die grinders: For deburring and detailed work in smaller areas using suitable collet-held accessories. Explore the die grinder collection for this format.
- Straight grinders: The Dayuri YSS125B straight grinder lists a 125mm wheel diameter, a 20mm wheel hole and a no-load speed of 5,300 RPM. Its wheel requirements differ from the shank-mounted accessories used in a die grinder.
Match the accessory to the machine
Wheel diameter alone does not establish compatibility. The bore or spindle arrangement, thickness, accessory type and guard must suit the machine. For collet-held accessories, the shank must match the fitted collet, and the accessory must stay within the model’s permitted dimensions. Its maximum rated speed must be at least the machine’s maximum speed.
Decide between mains and battery power
Most models in this collection use mains power. The 21V YR-953 cordless angle grinder provides a battery-powered option for work without a mains lead at the tool. Before ordering, confirm compatible batteries, charger requirements and what the quoted package includes.
Choose an abrasive for the job stage
A suitable grinding wheel can be used for rough material removal, while a flap disc can be used for blending and finishing. Browse the abrasives range by consumable type, then select for the workpiece material and your machine’s accessory requirements. Yuri’s comparison of flap discs and grinding wheels explains this task distinction in more detail.
People also ask
Does a higher wattage mean a grinder is better for my job?
Wattage alone does not establish suitability or working performance. The mains-powered models publish rated input power, while the YR-953 publishes maximum output power. Those figures measure different things and should not be compared as equivalent ratings.
Does a listed no-load speed mean the grinder has variable speed?
No. A single no-load RPM figure does not establish adjustable speed control. If the job requires a particular working speed, confirm that the model provides the necessary control and speed range before buying.
